Springboard: Rizwan Habib
Social Worker, Yellow Ribbon Cares

Rizwan turned to education to forge a new path after being orphaned at age 14 and experiencing homelessness and repeated incarcerations in his younger years. Determined to rebuild his life, he completed his primary and secondary education, including his O and A Levels, while in prison. He subsequently earned a degree in social work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences, where he is now pursuing a master’s degree. Today, he serves as a social worker at Yellow Ribbon Cares and a YR Cares Titan, helping to mentor and support inmates and ex-offenders.
Fellowship Goals and Aspirations
The Fellowship will support Rizwan in furthering his postgraduate education and deepening his expertise in social work. Looking ahead, he aspires to pursue teaching, drawing on both his professional knowledge and lived experiences to guide and inspire others.
