A future of possibilities – Rena’s journey towards independence

Rena was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and global development delay at a young age – conditions that affected her speech, motor skills, and daily living.
At age 23, she joined Bizlink Centre’s Day Activity Centre, where she was introduced to activities such as dance, body movements and crafting to strengthen her gross and fine motor skills. With time, patience and encouragement, Rena made steady progress.
At 28, Rena enrolled into training under Bizlink Centre’s Work Therapy Programme for soft-skills and holistic training including vocational skills. There, she learnt to self-regulate her emotions, communicate with others and gained confidence through hands-on training such as logistics, packing and craftwork.
With guidance from her trainers, Rena has blossomed. She is now able to take on new tasks confidently, continues to learn new skills including in Hydroponics Farming, and is eager to explore open employment in the near future. With your support, more people like Rena can unlock their abilities and take meaningful steps towards independence.
